Currently using stock version of firefox which came with debian 12. I have tried every solution that I could find but none of them work. The touchscreen behaves like a pen instead of a touchscreen.

Have you tried using Wayland and setting the environment variable MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1?

If you are stuck on x11 you can try MOZ_USE_XINPUT2=1.
