email not sending
Sending emails hit and miss. Sometime goes right out, other times I get this "The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.office365.com timed out. How do I cure this.. keep in mind I am very close to computer illiterate..

As you claim illiteracy, I will try and make it simple. Turn off your outgoing email scanning in your antivirus.

I am running Avast for computer security. Is the antivirus you mention part of Thunderbird or do I need to look into Avast? If Thunderbird, please offer some further direction
