When I click on FILE, from Firefox menu, and select SEND LINK, the browser begins flashing as hundreds of tabs race across the screen in rotation.

No, Thunderbird is the default. I also tried it with TB open, and it with it closed, no difference. Cannot use Firefox to send a link on Windows 7.
