We received a notice of a Firefox update ans now Firefox will not open any other sites

Last week our two computers received notices of a Firefox update. When we restarted the computers and opened Firefox it would go to thewebpage. When we tried to open any address nothing would happen. My wife downloaded a new Mozilla Firefox and her computer works fine. I am concerned what will happen to all of my bookmarks. I have more than a month's work bookmarked and it would be a disaster to loose all of these sights. Can I reload Firefox without loosing all of my bookmarks. Right now I am using AOL and that sucks big time.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox.
