why can't I connect to web sites that require my user name and password. window pops up saying this connection is untrusted.
This Connection is Untrusted You have asked Firefox to connect securely to cards.chase.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure. Normally, when you try to connect securely, sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified
What Should I Do?
If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue. Technical Details cards.chase.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate will not be valid until 5/4/2010 5:00 PM.

There are other things that need attention:
Your above posted system details show outdated plugin(s) with known security and stability risks that you should update.
- Shockwave Flash 10.1 r82
- Java Plug-in 1.6.0 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper)
Update the Flash plugin to the latest version.
Update the Java plugin to the latest version.

We have sites hosted with ipower.com and they have a valid security certificate. However, navigating to any of our https pages returns the "This connection is untrusted" (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer) error in FF 4.0.1. It doesn't happen with any other browser.
What is worse, if I click on "Add Exception" and then view the General tab of the Certificate Viewer, all of ipower's certificate information is filled in correctly, including the identity of the issuer.
This needs to be fixed really quickly.
