For some weeks I cannot bookmark pages or see previous listed bookmarks. Have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 3 times, but no bookmarks found. Tried again today and message window showed " Unable to process, bookmarks database corrupted". How can I fix this problem?

The bookmarks are stored in a file called places.sqlite, for details of how to fix that see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locked_or_damaged_places.sqlite
