My friend owns an IP Camera, and I tried to view the streaming views but on Firefox I cannot view it. When I use the internetExplorer provided by Microsoft it shows normal and good. Please can you suggest any plugins ?

Do you get any error messages?

Some webcams rely on ActiveX controls to display the videos, if this is the case for your friends IP camera then yu will need to use Internet Explorer since ActiveX is an IE plugin system that will not work on most other browsers.

The solution is simple here. Go to your page that views the webcam. Right click the webpage window, in the pop up box click settings, on the bottom of the settings screen are tabs, click the far left one, uncheck the box that says enable hardware acceleration.

Let me know if you have any other questions.......

I have Firefox 11.0.

I cannot view my webcams that require an active-x file *.ocx

I get the message 'Can't find object'.

How do I get Firefox to load the ocx file in order to view my cameras?

Surely Firefox can now handle IE Active-x plug ins?

No, Firefox doesn't handle ActiveX controls. You will have to use a camera that can be accessed and controlled via other means like a Java applet. ActiveX controls also won't work on other platforms like Linux or Mac, so it is best to avoid them altogether.

I already have the cams. Seems I shall just have to use IE.

Thanks
