When I go to click to open a new tab, it doesn't open. If I do ctrl+T it won't open a new tab. If I go to file and select new tab it won't open a new tab. The only way it will open a new tab is if I right click on a link somewhere on the page and click new tab. It's bizarre.

And while I'm at it, I went to download firefox 4.o it came up with an error page so I can't download firefox again...

This issue can be caused by the Ask.com toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions)

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

That is bizarre. Do you have any add-ons that change the default tab behavior? If so, try disabling them temporarily and see whether that helps.

Thank you, it was the Ask toolbar, I uninstalled it and now it works :)
