in the previous version, I had the possibility to save the status of my opened windows so I could reopen the session again with the same pages. In this version however, I cannot find this feature anymore. Is there another way to achieve this?

Firefox 4.0 automatically saves your session when you close Firefox. To "restore" your previous session use Restore Previous Session on the default about:home homepage or History > Restore Previous Session.

There was a change in Firefox 4.0 to stop Firefox displaying various warning messages, but they can be turned back on by changing a few preferences.

  1. Type about:config into the location bar and press enter
  2. Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
  3. Locate the preference browser.tabs.warnOnClose, if its value is set to false, double-click on it to change its value to true
  4. Repeat this for these 3 preferences browser.warnOnQuit, browser.warnOnRestart, browser.showQuitWarning

The feature is still there, you just no longer get the prompt to save tabs on exit. Your home page(if it is the default) will have a big restore button on it. Otherwise use History.
