Should I give up on Addons that stopped working when 4 came out altogether?

There were a couple of add ons that I really really liked that did not work with FF4. I have been waiting for those to be updated to work with FF4, and now 4 is EOL. I expect that coming out with a new incompatible version of FF every three months is going to destroy the ability of many add on creators to keep up. I was using a browser splitting add-on, should I simply give up on ever seeing that. or many other add-ons ever again? If you are going to keep up a fast revision schedule, you NEED to keep those revisions backwards compatible, or you are not going to get any add-ons written.

See if you can find Firefox 5.0 compatible versions with similar features.

That is just postponing the inevitable. If FF keeps coming out with new incompatible version every three months, it won't be long before there won't be any updated add-ons. And I need to keep learning new ways of doing things? As soon as I get used to something, boom new version of FF, and I have to go find a bunch of new add-ons, and learn how to use them? I don't really have much time for things like that. Yea, I found Tile Tabs, but it is just as likely to fall off under such a schedule.
