Why do I get popup ads from "MacKeeper" when I have popups blocked?

Every day I use Firefox I get at least one popup ad from "MacKeeper," offering to "clean my Mac." I believe it is malware, similar to "MacDefender" and "MacProtector." I have long opted to block popups, and get very few. But I do get this MacKeeper thing. What can I do to stop it? I have asked this question before, but have not been able to get an answer.
