How can I return to a previous WINDOW using keyboard

When I was using Explorer, I simply could use ALT+TAB to go from the window I was viewing to the last window I had viewed before that.

When I use ALT+TAB withe Firefox 3.6, most of the time it goes to another window other than the last one I had viewed.

What keyboard command can I use to go to the last window I had been viewing?

I am using Windows XP on a PC.

The Alt+Tab shortcut is used but the Windows XP OS, and changes focus between open Windows. You may be interested in the enhancement from the MS site where under the Power Toys tab you will find Alt+Tab Replacement http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-xp with that installed you get a preview of where you are going to go.

Whilst you are using Firefox, you may open some additional Windows for Firefox, and Alt + Tab may be used to navigate to them.

With Firefox you may also use tabbed browsing and when you update from Firefox 3.6 maybe the tab groups (the linked articles also explain the keyboard and mouse shortcuts available)

There is also a back and forward arrow (top left, below the firefox button), right click. (or click hold if highlighted) that to see the back and forward buffered pages.
