Just updated Firefox and got message to update Flash, too; Flash refused to install; please see further details below.
Just updated Firefox and got message from Firefox to update Flash, too. I downloaded flash, but it repeatedly failed to install, even after I followed recommendations on Adobe's troubleshooting page. Adobe's support person said he'd gotten lots of calls from Firefox users with the same problem in recent days. He said Firefox was unresponsive. He recommended Google Chrome browser instead. I don't want to switch. Please Advise.

Not related to your question, but...
You need to update some plug-ins:
- Plug-in check: https://www-trunk.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
- Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in: Installing (or Updating) the Shockwave plugin with Firefox
- NOTE: Do not confuse with Adobe Flash (aka, Flash or Shockwave Flash); this is the Adobe Shockwave Player, a different application)
I would update Flash by downloading the plugin installer directly, not from the usual Adobe link. That way, you do not get a bunch of undesirable junk dumped on you.

I took your suggestion. Alas, Flash still failed to load. Thanks for trying
Reply to Safe Browser: Sorry, didn't help. I got this dialogue box when my Flash problem first occurred. I followed the instructions, removed the old Flash software. The new version still wouldn't load.
