I haven't been able to get the flash player working since upgrading to FF 7.0.1 on Debian Linux. I have followed the instructions in "How do I install the Flash plugin?" (https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/installing-flash) multiple times.

As I said this has been an issue since the latest upgrade. I was able to get flash working in earlier versions. Flash works in the Debian "Iceweasel" version of FF.

Are you running a 32 bit Firefox version or a 64 bit bit Firefox version?

You need to use the same Flash plugin to make it work (32 bit Flash with 32 bit Firefox).

Thanks for the post, but no, that did not fix the problem.

I have located these directories:

/opt/firefox/plugins /usr/lib/firefox/plugins /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins

of course there is the /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree directory but that shouldn't matter for FF itself.

Still not working and I get this message on the "Check you plugins" page:

"For your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Flash. Please upgrade to the latest version."

The version on that page "Adobe Flash Player version 11.0.1.152 Your system: Linux 64-bit, Firefox" is the version I'm using.

How can I tell? I don't see the info in Help/About Firefox and the Mozilla page auto selects the download. The file I downloaded is firefox-7.0.1.tar.bz2 and the adobe file is install_flash_player_11_linux.x86_64.tar.gz which the down page lists as Adobe Flash Player version 11.0.1.152.

Oops. Downloaded the 32 bit flash file and I"m good to go. How do I get the 64 bit Firefox?

There are 64 bit versions of Firefox for Linux here:

There may be issues though with those releases as they are not tested that thoroughly.
