I have Firefox installed on my dual operating system computer. I have Windows and Linux- and on both operating systems, I get the "Not Responding" notification every minute or two. This happens whether I have one tab open, or more. I have uninstalled any unnecessary software, and have deleted all cookies and history. I even uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, and it seemed to help for about 2 hours. I run it in safe mode, and have all of my settings to recommended settings. It's getting pretty frustrating, for two reasons- I can't use the internet with out interruption, and, I dislike other browsers- my IT guy recommends avoiding Chrome and Explorer. I don't mind using Explorer in Linux, since there are typically less viruses written in Linux format, but most of my papers and projects have to be done in MS Office, which I only have on the Windows 7 side of things- I use Open Office on Linux; while I could easily save my projects in Open Office and convert it later, I typically have formatting problems then, and it's just easier and more reliable to use Fifefox and W7. Is there a fix for this? I'd rather not have to take my computer in to my IT guy, since he is so far away, but at this point, it seems like I have to.
