I have an avi file embedded into a website created with Frontpage 2003, which plays in IE9, but Firefox displays a broken icon instead of playing the video.
I am trying to create a web page featuring various slide shows for different photographic categories. I have made a small "Birds" avi video and embedded it in the URL below (http://mysite.mweb.co.za/residents/dobbino/Photographic%20Slide%20Shows.htm). The video plays if I load the page in IE9, but in Firefox 8 all that shows is a broken icon in the top left corner.

Thanks for the input. As mentioned above, I overcame the problem by using a flash video, and as it has other benefits (size) will use that in future. So will close the query.

I can't get it to work in IE8, Safari 5.0.1, Opera 11.51, or any version of Firefox. Front Page is the last program to use for creating pages that are viewable in anything except for IE.
Try one of these open source, free programs that are "Powered by Mozilla".

Hello to the-edmeister! Thanks for taking the trouble to respond, and for the links - I have had a quick a look at them and have bookmarked them for future use. While FrontPage might not be ideal, it has served me well in the past - this is the first issue I have had with it (it's just a simple personal website!), and have overcome my problem by converting the avi file to a flash file. Now works fine, but it has taken all afternoon! Thanks again - much appreciated!
The file seems to be here: http://mysite.mweb.co.za/residents/dobbino/Birds.avi
