After upgrading to Ubuntu 11.10, pandora.com no longer works correctly in firefox version 10

The first song plays, but if I hit the "next" button, or let the song finish, pandora gives me an error: "We've encountered an error. Sorry, it's our fault. Please click 'reload' to continue listening." Reloading the page only repeats the error.

Sometimes the browser freezes. After a moment Firefox says that a javascript script isn't responding, and asks if I would like to stop it. The script in question was jQuery.

I've tried launching firefox in safe-mode, but the error persists.

I've tried using Google Chrome browser, and it does NOT have this issue.

Edit: this question was initailly regarding Firefox version 8, however I've tried updating to the latest version (version 10), and the problem continues to persist.

Gekose oplossing

Something in my ~/.mozilla directory must have been uncompatable with the newer versions of firefox. I deleted my ~/.mozilla directory, and then relaunched firefox (which will create a fresh ~/.mozilla directory and profile for you). I used firefox sync to quickly get most of settings, passwords, bookmarks back.

Swarnava, that was a good idea, but unfortunately it did not solve my problem. I am now running Firefox version 10, and the problem still persists.

Or you could have just backed up your Profile(s) first. Keep in mind that Profiles for SeaMonkey and Thunderbird goes in ~/.mozilla also.

Or you could create a new Profile with the ProfileManager and the move over your settings to new one. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_manager#Linux

Firefox has to be completely exited first before starting Firefox with ProfileManager otherwise a new Firefox window will just open.
