hello, please remove all toolbars that you might have installed with the downloaded program (either in the windows control panel/programs section or in firefox under tools > addons > extensions).

Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page

in case this does not bring back the new tab page yet, please enter about:config into the location bar & search for the preference named browser.newtab.url - right-click and reset that pref to its default value about:newtab in order to show firefox' inbuilt new tab page...

To remove the new tab search, please open a new tab and simply select "Remove" below the search box.
