My PC is running Fire Fox 13. I can go to hotmail.com and try to log in. it displays unable to connect. I can go to IE and it works perfectly. I can use any other browser except fire fox and it works. I can go to another computer here using the same 13.0.1 and it opens up fine. I have reinstalled it, no change, done some of the tips in other forums like the dns prefetch etc... Just at a loss...

You might already have tried this, but just in case: when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

1. Clear Firefox's Cache

orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced

On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"

2. If needed, delete the site's cookies here (this will log you out, so save any work first)

While viewing a page on the site, right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

It's possible you have different add-ons on your different installations of Firefox. Can you see any differences? A standard diagnostic is to try Firefox's Safe Mode, which disables Extensions and custom settings.

First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode (Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode) using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."

Any luck logging in?
