Applied update Beta 15 -- where are add-ons? other features?
After applying update to Beta 15, I lost access to Add-ons. Clicking the button in Firefox logo doesn't work; neither does Ctl-Shft-A. Mouse features also are not working. Not sure what else doesn't work. I used System Restore to retrieve Beta 14.

cloverman,
Glad you solved the problem.
It is really important when having Firefox problems to consider whether other software could be the problem. I think those who have an open mind to that possibility probbly reach solutions sooner.

Hi cloverman,
Well done for trying the Beta channel. It does help in identifying problems in the real world if users try Beta or Aurora channels.
Once you have uninstalled or done a system restore there is not much that can be done to troubleshoot the problem. Also I suggest a system restore is not the best way of changing Firefox versions.
- it is not always guaranteed to work properly, sometmes it may cause problems with Firefox
- it tends to loose information, and affect other applications
- some users may not have a suitable system restore point
The ordinary method would be just to install the alternative version over the top of the existing one, without deleting or uninstalling the original. Note normally do NOT use any option from the Windows OS or from Firefox that mention removing personal information, because that will destroy bookmarks settings and passwords. (When there are problems a clean reinstall may be necessary, but it should still be possible to retain information).
You would now be better either upgrading again to the beta channel on Fx 15 or changing to the Firefox 14.0.1 Release, that is available from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Thanks for your help. The problem with trying to troubleshoot is that keys and boxes were not working. After trying all sorts of possibilities, I gave up and did a System Restore. Version 14 Beta was restored and is working just fine. Next time I'll go to the link you gave...which I had difficulty finding on my own.
Firefox 14.0 is a release now as Firefox 14.0.1
It sounds like you are on the Beta channel (see Help-> About Firefox) and if you prefer to be on the Release channel then the easiest way is to install the Firefox 14.0.1 from mozilla.org
Hi!
Does any one know if the Firefox beta 15 is fixed about the addons, that`s cloverman write before.
crille53
The addons disappear when a install Firefox beta 15 ob1,the whole page of addons gone white and it`s nothing there,it`like empty page,so I downloaded the stable version of Firefox 14o1 swedish and install over it,with no problem. I am only wondering if Mozilla can fix a new release of Firefox beta that should work with the addons. Best Regards crille 53

Hi crille53,
Please start a new thread by asking your own question use
Please give as much information as possible, including pasting your troubleshooting information when prompted. Your problem may be slightly different from cloverman's and hopefully you are not using system restore in attempting to fix Firefox or Firefox Beta.
P.S
please post again in this thread IF you ask a new question, others may be interested in following it.

In the interest of science, I upgraded Firefox to Beta 15 on a 2nd computer. This time, I could get into the Add-ons Manager, but the add-ons did not all work. I tried to click on the Troubleshooting key, but that was inoperative, as were most of my mouse movements. I tried to put a new URL in the address bar, but it wouldn't take; it always reverted to the URL I was on. I even put my AVG anti-virus program to sleep during this experiment, as I considered it might be a conflict with FF 15. Didn't make a difference. So I have concluded there are some major problems with version 15 on my computer. Using the URL you gave me, I downloaded version 14 and have now installed it so that I could reach this forum.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
See:
I would try this, except that I have now had the same problems on two different computers, with two different profiles. That makes me doubt it is a profile problem. It may be that some add-on(s) conflict with Beta 15, but I don't know which. I think I'll stick with version 14 for a while. Everything works just fine with it. (Which also makes me doubt it is a profile issue. Right?)
I had been on beta channel for a iong time and it has working fine with earlier beta Firefox program so I think something is wrong with this beta 15 version, and Firefox stable version 14.0.1 works very good so I hope that a new version of beta 15 is come soon. Best Regards crille53
It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
See "Corrupt extension files":
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons
If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to check if there is a compatibility update available.
You can also try to delete the addons.sqlite file.
Cor-el,
Please see my last reply. I am having problems with Beta 15 on two different computers. What is the likelihood that both have defective extension registries?
cloverman,
It is quite plausible that both computers have a profile problem.
You say both do have problems. Maybe you made a similar change to each, possibly something as simple as installing or attempting to install the same add-on, or even picked up malware on both machines.
Hello! Today I has install the new beta Firefox 15.02 and it happens the same thing for me like it did before when I install the firex beta 15.01 no addons when I push the Firefox button on the left corner, it was only a white empty page,so I inaktived all addons in safe mode and enable one at a time and it works very good then I came too the addon New Tab King and nothing works again and I have to do the same things again and now it works okay. So I think somethings not okay with the addon New Tab King when you use Firefox beta 15.01 &15.02,but if you use the stable version of Firefox 14.0.1 it works okay, this is my experience when I used this programs.
Best Regards crille53

Hello again!
I tested once again and installed the New Tab King and I get the same results so somethings is wrong.without that very good addon it will not work,so I have to wait and check later after a new update perhaps. Best Regards crille53

I did essentially what crille53 did -- I started eliminating add-ons and found that TWO of them interfered with Beta 15.02. They are Stylish 1.2.6 and Tab Utilities. With both of them disabled, FF Beta 15.02 works like it should! Thanks to all who tried to help. I consider this matter closed, with a reminder to myself to start with the obvious. In this case, the obvious was the add-ons.
