Firefox crashes
Description of problem:- Firefox not starting up, not even with terminal. When I try to start it, it logs me out so that I have to log in anew. Even with terminal it does this. (I was hoping staring it with terminal, will provide a fault report) This started after an update, before that, it worked fine. I have tried to login on another user, but still same problem. Any idea what my problem is. I am not to hot with this fault reporting thing, so please bear with me. If any further information required, or where I can get a fault report on my system to submit, please tell me what to do and I will oblige. It is a fresh install of the system. I have no idea how to reproduce the bug. Nothing in ~/.mozilla/firefox/Crash Reports. All updates done.bold text System:- Ubuntu Studio 12.10 (Alfa) Release 12.10 (quantal) 64-bit Kernel Linux 3.5.0-9-lowlatency GNOME 3.5.5 AMD Athlon(tm) X4 620 Processor × 4 Firefox latest dist.

Does the official release work? The current release is 14.0.1. What do you mean, it logs you out? I do not have to log in to any browser.
the machine shuts down and ask me to log in again, not a total shutdown.
Firefox worked as I said till a update broke something some where. It was a total new instalation of Ubuntu12.10.
You mean that the operating system is crashing and then restarting. An application should not be able to crash an operating system. Have you tried running Firefox in Safe Mode? If it works in safe mode, then it is an extension causing problems or else hardware acceleration causing them.
Yes firefox crashes my system and system ask me to log in again. I cannot get firefox to run to be able to get into its safe mode.
Do you mean I must run my system on safe mode not fire fox safe mode?
