Google Image Search displays only one page of results. I have tried the solutions.

I try to search images on Google and it displays only 1 page of results, from page 2 and onwards it shows grey boxes. Images display just fine on IE.

I saw that a lot of people had this problem. I tried the suggested solutions, none of them worked for me. I -cleared cache -disabled addons -tested firefox in safe mode -removed all the add-ons -uninstalled firefox and my antivirus (AVG) -reinstalled firefox and updated java

And it's still displaying only one page of results. Any fixes?

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Thanks for the response.

I already tried that. It didn't do anything.

Past threads have some other suggestions:

Google Images won't display full search results - solved by either turning off instant search or clearing Google cookies

Google images only showing first page. Any solutions yet? - AdBlock and XULRunner extensions created the issue

Google search, images not working - new profile solved the problem

Note that a Reset transfers the cookies to the new profile, so that would not help in cases like this when cookies cause the problem.

Remove the Google cookies from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Thanks for the responses.

I tried all those solutions before making the post, and none of them worked for me.

But I think I found the cause of the problem.

When I clear the firefox's "recent history" (I check every box in it), restart firefox and enter "google.com" in the address bar, it does NOT show the home page. Nothing happens. It doesn't even show the "connecting to google.com" bar at the bottom. So then I enter my search term in the integrated google search bar, I get the results just fine. But when I click the images tab it only shows me 1 page of results, like before.

However, when I clear the history, restart firefox and enter "WWW.google.com", it shows the homepage just fine. I enter my search query, the result page shows up just fine, and when I click the images tab, the it displays the images perfectly, and not just one page of results.

So, any ideas what's causing this?

Perhaps you are blocking the site's redirect from google.com to www.google.com. Firefox has a feature to block redirects, but usually you get an infobar asking if you want to proceed. Some add-ons might have a silent block.

To check the Firefox setting:

orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Options > Advanced > General > "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page""

I checked it, and that option is unchecked. Another odd thing I've noticed is that not even the IE is opening the home page when I type "google.com" instead of "WWW.google.com". First instinct tells me that it's the antivirus blocking it, but I'd even uninstalled my antivirus and tested it, and no luck.

Are redirects filtered for other domains? As a test you could try:

http://jeffersonscher.com/ttw/ - Wordpress should redirect you to
http://www.jeffersonscher.com/ttw/

Is it possible that google.com is listed in your hosts file? That would be quite unusual, but... you could check:

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
