Bookmarks keep disappearing
I seem to have a bug in Firefox and don't know what to do about it. Whenever I try to save a bookmark or even look at my list of bookmarks in the manager, they all instantly delete. Trying to restore them does nothing--the list of backups is there, but choosing any backup does nothing. Note that even with wifi disconnected, it still happens, so it's not a sync issue, although my other copies of Firefox on other devices, due to this bug, have synced the empty bookmarks and are now useless from the first time it happened. The only way to restore my bookmarks is to use a backup of my Profiles folder.
Here's a screencast showing what happens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDh7Ef3nQPQ
The same thing happens when I try to bookmark a page. The same thing happens when I do nothing and have sync enabled--as soon as something considers editing my bookmarks, they disapear. Note that I can choose bookmarks from the menu or bar no problem, and history is preserved when bookmarks disappear.
I tried running a cleaner on my Places file. That had no effect.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.
