When I'm typing an email using Outlook (the new Hotmail), but also on the old Hotmail, red lines appear under correctly spelled words or parts of words. This does not happen with other browsers and has been a problem with Firefox for a very long time.

That is likely a bug in Firefox (Bug 790475 - Spell checking broken).

Thanks. Is that anything I can fix, or is that something Mozilla (Firefox) has to correct?

This has been fixed for Firefox 19 to be released in just over 6 weeks.

(fixed the broken link in my above post to the forum thread)
