I've had the same issue and had to go back to FFv19 on one computer, and to IE on another :(

Try editing the userscript to use the version of the plugin you're using. It didn't work for me at first until I changed 1.1.2.27 to 1.1.2.8 (which is what I've got installed in firefox).

P.G. should correct line 50 of his "Q-See DVR Plugin v1.1.1.25/Firefox 20 Fix" in userscript. It is supposed to be: var j="1.1.2.5"; Finally, this case is solved and I can monitor my security cams via Firefox. Many thanks to P.G. and magicland.

My DVR uses plugin version 1.1.2.25 hence why var j = 1.1.2.25. What I should have done was put in a comment somewhere in the script for folks to check their version and update that line to reflect it. Sorry for the confusion and glad to hear it works for you.

We are big fans of Firefox. That's why we don't want to use other browsers. We really hope that Firefox will fix this problem when Firefox 21.0 is released.

I'd really like to try the fix with the script edit. I just need guidance where the scripts are located.

Hi hokieinidaho, after you install Greasemonkey and your first userscript, you can view individual script settings and edit your scripts from here:

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Userscripts

When you right-click > Edit, the first time, Greasemonkey may ask you to choose a text editor. To avoid corrupting the file, it's best to avoid using Word or other word processors as your text editors (since they may change normal quotation marks to curved ones and try to insert formatting codes).

I downloaded the script "Q-see DVR/ Firefox 20 fix null." I changed line 50 to 1.1.2.8 but not getting it to work. Did I miss a step?

Hi dkraum, could you check your Plugins list and check your personal version number for the DVR plugin? I think at least 3 different ones have been posted so far in this thread.

I believe you edit needs to match the actual version installed on your Firefox.

The Greasemonkey extension which runs the script can be enabled/disabled from the Tools menu or the "monkey" icon. Make sure it isn't disabled.

dkraum and anyone else having issues: one thing I noticed when I downloaded the script. I did a Ctrl-A 'select all' to copy the script from the userscripts.org web site. what I did not pick up on initially is that the way that page is set up, doing a 'select all' selects everything on the page, not just the script itself. I noticed the stuff at the top, like "There are 1 previous version of this script", and deleted everything before the line "// ==UserScript==". When it did not initially work for me, I double-checked, and sure enough there was unwanted text at the bottom as well ("Powered by monkeys and unicorns", etc!). Deleted everything after the last "}", saved, and voila it worked great. Hope this helps!

Install GreaseMonkey:

Then install the userscript on this page:

Use the Install button in the upper-right corner of that page.

Then you may need to edit line #50 of that script

var j="1.1.2.25"; 

to the Q-See Plugin version number that you have installed.

FF 21.0 has been out. This issue is still there. We need to enable Greasemonkey once again. Will they fix this thing in the next release?

I'm no expert but the Add-On I used was IE Tab 2. worked for me!

I have been watching this thread since my original post on 4/12/2013...

I have not installed any additional Add-on doo-dad in order to view my Qsee DVR. Whilst it is really cool that non-Mozilla/non-Qsee people have figured out how to make things work, to me, installing GreaseMonkey + a script is not a great solution.

If I have to install an additional Add-on just to get things to work, it is MUCH easier to install IE Tab 2.

I am continuing to sit on the sidelines = I (foolishly?) continue to NOT want to install another Add-on to get what used to work, to work. I'm using dreaded IE to view my Qsee DVR, and I am hoping that FF22? will "magically" work out-of-the-box...

Unfortunately, IE and IE Tab do not work for me. I get UI errors (this wasn't the case with versions prior to IE 10), nor does Chrome work right for me either. For me I would prefer that Firefox worked the way it did before FF20 but from the looks of it, it won't. And I doubt Q-See will update all their firmware to work right any time soon, if at all. But if IE/IE Tab 2 works for you then that is definitely the route to go.

No "magic" involved. Q-See won't work properly in Firefox without "some help" until Q-See fixes that add-on.

Yes, IE Tab will work, but all that does is allow Q-See to work using IE in a tab within Firefox. That makes Firefox as vulnerable as IE is to certain exploits.

Nothing wrong with doing it that way, but some users don't want anything to do with IE, whether in a Firefox tab or not. Use whatever you feel comfortable with using.
