How to change session time settings in Mozilla Persona
Hi,
I wanted to touch base with you on some issues that I'm having using mozilla persona. The main two issues that I have are:
1) The mozilla persona account seems to stay active for some time after when you properly sign-in. Repeat visits to the site automatically sign you into the previous user account. This is bad inside of an environment where you have multiple users in a medical setting.
2) The session seems to time out while you are using the site that you have signed-in to. This occurs when the site isn't used for an unknown length of time.
Please let me know if you have any ideas on this.
Thanks, -Keith

I would assume that in such a case cookies are involved.
As long as you have the cookie from login.persona.org then you should stay logged on useless you logged off yourself.
The Persona website should only allow to login to the other website.
I assume that once you have logged on then the site creates a normal login cookie and no longer needs the credentials passed by the persona site (if I remove the persona cookie then I'm still logged on).
If you get logged off because the session expired then this should indicate another problem, either with the cookies or a problem with the clock.
Do you have extensions or security software that may affect cookies?

I was using a two step sign-in where the doctor would sign-in for their office and then a second sign-in for a patient. I was keeping a session cookie for the patient but wasn't holding a secondary cookie for the doctor's session and was continuing to use the persona credentials. The failure was caused by my misunderstanding of the nature of the persona credentials. I will replace that with an independent cookie and that should solve the problem. Thanks for the information.
Note that you can open a New Private Window in current Firefox versions.
Such a Private Window uses its own set of cookies (cookies are shared among all PB mode windows).
