I have the same error message about problems related to Google & Shaw and BC, but I also use Safari which can get to google via Shaw Is problem with Firefox?

The problem seems to be between Firefox & Google talking to each other. I also use Safari as a browser, also liked to Shaw, and have no problems getting to Google Mail, (maps, and other sites now owned by Google.

This is caused by Shaw's network, they are working on a resolution, but in the meantime the fix above will work. After Shaw resolves their issue remember to reset that value to it's default as it's a security feature you do want to have enabled.

hello ronelliott, the issue is still being investigated by all sides - so until the exact cause is known it is not possible to answer this question yet.

other affected users have reported that you can temporarily circumvent the issue when you enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named security.tls.version.max. double-click it and change its value to 0.

once the issue is resolved by shaw or firefox, you should go back and revert security.tls.version.max to 1 again, since it will provide a greater level of security this way.
