Already asked but at the time did not register to see if any reply forthcoming, so here is the simple question again: "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\h4nh7abn.default\prefs.js" keeps coming up on my computer as a malware item even though I have completely uninstalled Firefox. How can this be?!? I uninstalled all Firefox remnants with a good uninstaller. Re-booted. I've also run scans, including the JRT scan recommended on another mozilla support page, yet it still keeps coming back as though Firefox is still on my computer, even in relation to the "JRT scan"... This is weird...what to do? --Avast antivirus, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Hitman Pro, JRT scanner, CCleaner, etc., installed, Vista - 32 bit.

Maybe when you uninstalled the Firefox, your profile folder did not was deleted, try go to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming and delete the Mozilla folder or go to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\F\Profiles and delete all the folder, but if you still use Firefox try go to your profile and delete only the pref.js, but i dont know what this happening

Sounds like a false positive.
The prefs.js file only stores modified prefs and no code (data) that can run and be harmful that way.

It is usually best to exclude the Firefox profile folder from scanning to prevent such software from corrupting files in the Firefox profile folder.
