Fonts on some sites appear condensed
I recently installed Firefox on a brand new custom-built machine. However the fonts on certain pages appear condensed and almost illegible (shown in the picture here).

Can someone help me fix this please?

Thanks folks. So here is what worked. I always suspected this but never tried out except for now. I had a font on my system called Helvetica Neue LT. Apparently the site too makes use of this font for their webpages but since it found a local copy it loaded that one. When I deleted this font from my system, the page loads just fine with everything looking crisp and clear! I had the same issue with my own website which used some custom fonts that were already there on my local machine.

Yes I tried this but it did not work :(
Works fine here on Linux. Right-click > "Inspect Element" > Font shows:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux) Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Try to set the gfx.content.azure.enabled pref to false or if this didn't help disable Direct2D by setting the gfx.direct2d.disabled pref to true on the about:config page and leave hardware acceleration otherwise enabled.
That way you still have the benefit from hardware acceleration, but may not suffer from rendering issues.
