IN FF28 it was possible to detach the refresh button from the address bar, but now the whole address bar is just one element. I am really used to have the button on the left side and not on the right side of the screen. I would love to have the opportunity back again to separate them!

I am guessing it is not possible to remove this without using an addon.

If Firefox blocks a plugin then you should see a Lego block icon on the left end of the location bar. You can set the default behavior on the "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins" page or for the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
