Can you associate this problem with any recent changes, such as updating Firefox or other programs?

Have you shut down and restarted Windows since this problem began?

Could you try starting Firefox in its Safe Mode? Hold down the Shift key when double-clicking the Firefox icon.

If all goes well, you will get a small dialog. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).
