Got a new computer and I just wanted to transfer all the contacts in my address book from there to my new computer on Thunderbird rather than painstakingly doing it one at a time! Can I import them all?

I kept trying and found a LDIF file which was imported properly - no reply needed - thanks -

I think I should clarify a bit more... Both my old computer and new computer have Thunderbird on them. I just want to "magically" get all my address book contacts from the old computer and older version of Thunderbird to the new computer and newer version (I assume) of Thunderbird. Is this possible? I am not REAL computer literate so the directions (if there are any) must be easy to understand. Thanks

On the old computer: open Address Book, select an address book, Tools/Export, name the LDIF file.

Copy the LDIF file to the new computer.

On the new computer: Tools/Import...Address books...Text file... select the LDIF file.

Press Alt or F10 if the Menu Bar is hidden.

I am trying to do the same thing but when I try to import the LDIF file it will not select the file name - only individual contacts one at a time. Since I have almost 500 contacts so this woud take too long... what am I doing wrong?
