Look in the full headers.
select the email and click on 'Other Actions' and select 'View source or from toolbar 'View' > 'Message Source'.
Is your email address mentioned anywhere in the full headers?
Is there a similar name, but either with a dot or without one?
Have a read of some comments posted at this link :
If you have a Pop mail account, it is possible that those messages were downloaded and then deleted off the server.
I would suggest that you do not reply to any of these emails and contact Sky help forum. http://helpforum.sky.com/
looked at links as suggested but the difference is, if I log onto sky mail through sky, these emails do not show up. I phoned sky help and they said I needed to speak to Mozilla. I also looked at the view source, but not sure what I am looking at. The only listing with my email account details in says it has " apparently delivered to-". can you help further? This problem has only just started a week or two a go. Thanks
Thunderbird downloads messages from the Inbox of your Emil provider. I am not sure what Sky expects Mozilla to do about their inability to deliver email correctly.
What setting do you have here:
- Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings for the mail account.
or
- Menu icon > Options > Account Settings > Server Settings for the mail account.
- 'leave messages on the server'
Do you have this selected or not? Tell us your current setting.
Please post the following info so we can check server details are correct -
- In Thunderbird
- Help > Troubleshooting Information
- Click on 'copy text to clipboard'
- then paste info into this question.
- you can edit/remove all the section on fonts and printers.
I seem to only have this problem with account4 ie sky.com

There is nothing wrong with the settings.
You are accessing Sky Yahoo Mail using POP settings.
If you keep messages on the server, to check webmail emails you mentioned that you logged on to sky.com, but did you logon to Yahoo Sky Mail to check emails?
I'm not sure if logging into Sky auto logs you in yahoo sky.
Gewysig op
Any email you download for the Sky pop mail account will only come from the server Inbox.
Suggest to check carefully through the message source of the email. select email then 'View' > 'Message Source'.
It is possible that the email is Spam and was sent to you and loads of other people possibly in a Bcc. You might see that there are different versions of the first part of email address but all have the @sky.com domain. Do not respond to any of these emails as it will only prove to the spammer that your email address is live.
Make sure your settings 'leave messages on the server'. then you can logon to webmail and select those emails as Spam. There may be settings to set up a Spam filtering.
Sky claim they take action against spammers.
In Thunderbird, check your Junk Controls and then select the email as Junk. Here is link to Junk Controls.
