Since Thunderbird updated to version 31.0 when I start it, it gives an Unresponsive script error message when it tries to connect to the server I mainly use (on which there are several IMAP accounts). The Script is "chrome://messenger/content/folderPane.js:503" If I click continue, Thunderbird crashes. If I click "Stop Script", Thunderbird appears to work normally, including receiving mail from the main IMAP server. How can I either fix the problem, or roll back to the previous version (and stop my other machine and my wife's machine from updating)?

Lets just start with some simple diagnostics as to the cause.

Restart the operating system in safe mode with Networking. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX
