Why does the Linux version of Firefox not have the scroll arrows like the Windows version has? Can I get the same behavior in Linux as in Windows?

I use Firefox in Windows just fine. When I try to use it in Linux, the little arrows at the top and bottom of the scroll bar are missing. Also, the behavior of the scrolling is different: in Windows, when I click in the scroll bar anywhere below the bar-that-shows-where-on-the-page-I-am (I don't know what to call this), the page scrolls approximately one screenful. In Linux, the page scrolls porportionatly to the distance from that object that I click. In order to scroll a page in Linux, then, I have to guess and click very close to that object, and usually the page scrolls too far. Personally, I would say the scrolling behavior in Windows is superior to that in Linux.

Is it possible to get the same behavior in the Linux version, in addition to the increment arrows at the top and bottom of the scrollbar? Why would there even be two versions??

I do not know what version of Linux that you are using, however there was a solution to this mentioned in a previous questions:

It could also be a feature of the Linux operating system, please make sure that other applications are not showing the scroll bars as well, this will show if it needs to be changed in the operating systems as well.
