Trying to access my email in yahoo mail all morning has failed. I keep getting an error message no matter what I try to do. 1. cannot open mail 2. cannot delete mail 3. cannot open options ............cannot do anything on the yahoo mail page at all.

Attached is screen shot of the error message I keep getting.

How can I get this fixed? My browser worked last night but not this morning? Hello...you have a problem.

Every time I try to go back to using Mozilla FIrefox, it closes on me so I am forced to use Google Chrome...yea..your competitor's browser works, but not yours?

Hello,

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu, choose History, and then "Clear Recent History...".
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the "Clear Now" button.

Further information can be found in the Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

I tried that but it did not solve the problem. So the short story is, you have lost a Firefox browser user. I moved onto Chrome and never had any hiccups accessing my mail like I did using Firefox.

It appears that Mozilla has some issues with their scripting and other behind the scenes programming for users.

I have had more trouble using Firefox in the past several months than I had before...so something in how you develop your browser and its updates has changed to the point it is not easy to work with as it used to be.

When you have few changes on the user end except updates for Windows and your browser worked before hand, but not now, there are issues.

I hope you fix them ...but you have permanently lost me as a Firefox browser user ...I am not wasting any more time trying to fix something that worked before but does not now.

I am sorry to hear that we've lost you as a loyal Firefox user. We aim to provide support even if you've lost hope. Since you have tried some of the basic troubleshooting, would you mind outlining what you have tried so we know that you've done it and don't need to repeat ourselves? I understand that you no longer have the time to fix Firefox but just like you, most of us here are users just like you volunteering their time to help users out like that you, and to stand with Mozilla's mission and beliefs. I hope that you are willing to give us a second chance so we can assist you with the issue you are encountering.

Thank you!

Well, at this point I am unable to provide screen shots to show you the steps I followed to try and solve the problem because I have completely uninstalled the browser and deleted all the files.

But I can tell you that I did all the steps you listed in your message. I even browsed the link you provided to see if I could find anything else that would help but I could not find anything that worked.

The problem I kept running into was that once I did ONE step and logged back into my email, the entire browser froze up and nothing was active...period.

So after each time I clicked on any mail in my mail box even after clearing all that stuff out...the browser froze again and again. It was a long and painful process that provided no relief what-so-ever.

The only way I could access my yahoo mail was to use a different browser entirely. So with this in mind it became apparent that there is a conflict somewhere causing yahoo mail to freeze up completely while using Firefox.

Sorry I cannot provide more, but there needs to be another tool you can use to search for and provide crash reports even in the event the browser freezes.

You used to have something like this so that I could send in error reports but that was a while ago and several iterations of Firefox ago.

Good luck to you.

We log crash reports but not freezes. It is unfortunate that your browser is freezing every time you want to using Yahoo! Mail. Have you tried a Firefox Refresh or Firefox Safe Mode to see if this helps? (I can provide those instructions if needed).

yea...I did do those first before I tried your other steps...but nothing really helped.

So there is an issue somewhere in that mix.

Andrew, as I said in my post, I have already deleted and uninstalled all Mozilla browser files and software from my pc.

But for the record, I believe the version was 40 (latest update version) and I am now running Windows 10.
