Thunderbird wont send attachments; Status reads delivering mail but does not progress past 97%.

Running Thunderbird 38.2.0 on Windows 10.

I can send emails just fine but if I try and attach a file, the progress bar stops at 97% until I receive an SMTP timed out error message.

Note the attachments are not too large, the file I was attempting to send this morning was 129Kb.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Update: Some of the emails seem to be going through despite not getting a sent confirmation or the email being transferred to the "Sent" folder.
