FF 42 64bits plugin disappeared
Hi,
I've installed FF 42 64 bits on my computer and plugins doesn't show up in option and doesn't seam to work perfectly, like itunes detector, quicktime (in application, in option tab), I even can't manage them. Extension work great. Is there a workaround to fix compatibility ?
I've done :
- Reinstall FF 42 64 bits - Reinstall FF 42 64 bits and 32 bits, all plugins appear like before on 32 bits version, not 64 bits - New profile
Thanks in advance, at the moment I've both of them installed, I'm using 32 bits for comfortability and keep 64 bits if there is a fix. Hope I get one soon !

hi HoctoPrism, firefox 64bit for windows is only supporting the flash plugin by design: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/win64/meetingarchive#Clean_Slate_Approach
if you depend on other plugins, please continue tu use the regular 32bit firefox builds. npapi plugins will continue to work there until the end of 2016 - afterwards support for them will be phased out there as well... https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2015/10/08/npapi-plugins-in-firefox/
So actual plugins developers have to change the way to create plugins ? So for example itunes or battlelog plugin is they are updated to the new system, I could use them of 64bits version ?
Mozilla works with unity, so I'm not worried for Unity's integretion, the same for flash, silverlight and jave I can see streaming video on 64bits (flash) because many websites use them for now. But only three plugins itunes application detector, quicktime and battlelog, they have to be updated if I want to use them
plugin developers can't do anything about this - firefox will drop support for those plugins in the mid-term (or in win64bit builds didn't add it in the first place). this is a conscious decision by browser vendors to deprecate this kind of technology on the web in order to get content vendors to use common standards (html5)...
Yes I understand, So maybe I have to use 64bits, even if some plugins (I can live without them, or launch 32bits when it's needed) are not working to see a the transition from olds techs to the common standard.
From EA for example with their battlelog plugin, without this, players can't launch a game, so they have to update their website and to see that, I have to use 64bits, if I'm on 32bits I have the actual plugin so it's false result...
thanks for your help, I didn't know this big change for firefox, and it's a good thing, especially flash, it was nice a long time ago from now...
EDIT : Battlelog is the only one "plugin" missing on 64bits, for itunes website I can now send link to itunes app, and I don't play battlefield anymore so I'm using 64bits now (keep 32bits in case of)
EDIT : It's meaning I could uninstall java, silverlight and Unity web player if they will not be support anymore at the mid-term !?
