Thunderbird used to download combined Virgin Media (VM) emails i.e INbox & SEND into Inbox. Can't get the VM SEND folder emails included.
Due to issues of security of access and availability of my Virgin Media Email history (over 10 years) I set up Mozilla Thunderbird earlier this year to get messages from the Virgin Media server via POP 3. Initially I had the combined InBox and SEND folders downloaded into the Thunderbird InBox and this is now saved onto my local PC hard drive. Now I only get the Virgin Media Email 'InBox' content downloaded.
Virgin Media email facility had lots of issues over past 2 months before they migrated to a new Email facility which supposedly dumped all the previous 'History' into GMail folders section. The previous VM email SEND folder has now been renamed as 'SEND Objects' after the migration. The end result of this is that Thunderbird does not include the SEND (SEND Objects) content in the messages it downloads for the past few months, I only get the VM INBox content. Can you help.....Suggestions?

You have a POP mail account. POP mail accounts can only access the server Inbox and download emails from server Inbox to thunderbird pop mail account Inbox. This is not a Thunderbird quirk; it is how all POP mail accounts work.
If you send emails via Thunderbird then the sent emails should be saved in the Pop mail account 'Sent' folder.
Any emails sent previously via webmail will be stored in the webmail server 'Sent' or 'Send Objects' folder. To get any emails held in a server folder (other than Inbox), they can only be download via the following method:
To make life easier (but not essential) move all good emails out of Thunderbird Pop mail account Inbox into other suitable folders for organising. Delete any you do not want and then when Inbox is empty, right click on Inbox and select 'Compact' to remove all traces of 'marked as deleted' mail.
Next: Logon to webmail via a browser. Move all emails from 'Send Objects' folder into Inbox.
In Thunderbird Click on 'get Messages' to download those emails. Then move them into your 'Sent' folder'.

Toad-hall thank you for your response.
Your suggestion is 'workable' (just) but involves a lot of admin of the VM email account. Previously this Thunderbird email facility automatically downloaded the VM 'InBox' as well as the 'SEND' folders as 'combined' messages. They were differentiated in the Thunderbird InBox Listing with my name shown as the Origin / Sender for the SENT messages.
Is there a way to configure Thunderbird to look at other Folders rather than just the 'InBox' in the VM email account? I am assuming that the original Virgin Media Server released the 'SENT' messages as well as the 'InBox' content in response to the 'Thunderbird 'get messages' instruction? Regards Keith

Not using POP.
You would have to create an IMAP mail account. IMAP mail accounts see a remote view of the server folders. You subscribe to see folders, so you can choose which ones you want to see. thunderbird auto downloads headers and when you select the email it is retrieved from the server and stored in a temporary cache to enable viewing. You can also synchronise those subscribed folders to get a copy downloaded into the Thunderbird profile folders, so you can view them even in offline mode. It also makes it easier to backup those emails. see info here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/imap-synchronization
