FF 42 has hung up several times this week. Alt Tab helps.

FF 42 has hung up several times this week. I can get out of it sometimes with an Alt Tab. Without that the mouse does not open other tabs or windows.

It might be related to a popup of a quick alarm Reminder Fox from last night. The window shows up on task bar but I cannot pull it up to dismiss it.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that has effect.

Thank you. All works well in Safe Mode.

It was a Reminder Fox bug. They are working on it. I have reverted to an earlier version and everything on Firefox works fine now.,
