running firefox 49.0.1 on windows 10. downloaded some files and they are complete and i can see them in the downloads tab, but cannot open the containing folder. when looking in the containing folder on my computer none of them are there either. I have already tried resetting firefox and can still see the files ive downloaded in the tab, but cannot access them... please advise a solution...

Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address bar. What is the folder you are downloading to?

If you remember the name of one of the downloads, open your file browser to your user folder and search.

Download something that will take a few minutes. When it starts, open the download folder. Is it there?

I am suspecting something is removing the file when the download is finished. Possibly your protection programs.

If the file shows up, but disappears, Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?
