Recently, I find that there is only time, but no date printed in both my in-coming and out-going messages. I tried to uninstall and install the thunderbird again but it doesn't work. Still, there is not any date printed in the messages.

That is the default setting. Today's messages don't show the date. When you know this, you may appreciate that it is made easier to identify current messages by their shorter date/time string.

You can change it. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Date_display_format
