Firefox causes Windows 10 crashes
Hello!
I use FF 65.0 / 64 bit Windows 10 Pro N / 1809 / Built 17763.292 Nvidia driver 418.81
In this version of windows, but also in the last one, FF causes Windows blue screens (KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED). It happens after some time working with the browser, especially when many tabs are open and videos are played. But not always - I cannot reproduce it. I just know it always happens when I browse in FF.

If you haven't seen lately 1809 has been giving users issues so I would related this to a O/S problem if it isn't related to the Browser.

I wrote above, that I also had this problem with the last version of windows, I actually hoped that the new version 1809 will fix it - well, no - it still crashes. And it's nearly almost when I use FF ... so I do not think this is an OS issue (only). And you can also see in the dump file I published that it was ff who caused the crash / blue screen.

Seen many a claims that Firefox was somehow the cause of a BSOD and not one case was ever proven to be directly caused by Firefox.
An application like Firefox does not cause BSOD as there are many factors that can cause BSOD. There has been cases where some people found it to be more reproducible under certain conditions to get the BSOD while using Firefox. I remember one guy many years kept insisting that Firefox was the cause of the BSOD he was getting no matter what until he finally looked in his PC case. Turns out one of the PSU connections was a bit lose so when system was under a certain system load it tended to BSOD and he came back and apologized as system ran fine after.
Drivers, run level applications, PSU and or connections, bad RAM etc are some reasons for BSOD.
I notice you have the Nvidia 418.81 driver as that has been causing crashes on some games and also BSOD for some people. Not saying it is the cause but one of the potential causes.

N and KN editions do not come with the media feature packs that Windows in markets like US and Canada comes with. The packs has the needed codecs to fully use the HTML5 players used on sites like Youtube https://www.youtube.com/html5/

thank you for your comments. You are right, I cannot prove FF is the application which causes the BSOD, but I hoped that someone here can interpret the MiniDump files I uploaded - and at least the one I am referencing to in my posting, contains firefox as the BSOD causing application. At least as far as I understand.
I am aware, that Windows 10 N has no MM packages, and I already installed them. And this several times, because each time you install a major update, you have to install this package again ... but I did also with the new version.
What I also already did is a memory check, no result. And a driver stress test, no result.
And the graphic driver issues you referenced do not contain any hint on my crashes, at least I cannot find one.
I have also some crashes with a game I play, Kingdome come and Deliverance, but those are rare and I know that games which use a maximum on resources often crash.

PS.: btw, with my last PSU problem I experienced a BS (black screen) ;-) It send a current peak on the 12 V line and destroyed nearly all components of my PC :-)
Damn it I'm getting sick and tired of Firefox hard crashing Windows 10 here. Today was at least the tenth time. I'll be working along and suddenly everything freezes including Win 10. The only solution is to power down then power back up. How far into our systems do you have your hooks that your Browser can take down the entire operating system ?
