Everytime I update to a new Firefox, I lose my auto logins on sites. I have to get out my Password list and manually login to every frikkin' site. I keep putting off updating, hoping that maybe the problem has been fixed, but like Lucy pulling the football from Charlie Brown, I give in and update and WHAM!
If this can't be fixed, is there a way to disable auto Firefox updates or even that nagging box in the upper right hand corner.
I don't do a lot of surfing on my PC any more, so to have this continually happen over and over again is extremely aggravating!

Thank you for your reply, but I don't ever have to do this with Chrome updates. But, I only use Chrome for a blog I am on thru Disqus that works best with Chrome. And your browser works best for the sites I frequent. At least until I update.
And, unfortunately, I like Firefox best. I have used it for years.
I have some sites that retain the cookies and some that don't. I ALWAYS check the 'Remember me' box out of a longserved habit. Why does Firefox even wipe these sites out? Why are they messing with my sites and my cookies? I have seen other users with the same issue.
And finally, your reply and suggested steps are as clear as mud to this old man. I haven't a clue how to proceed. Create a cookie allow reception with the proper protocol? I know what a protocol is, but....
As I noted earlier, I appreciate your replying. But it isn't helping my problem. I have gone on the four sites that I had to reenter my info (there may be more, but these are 4 of my most visited sites). All of them have 'remember this info' checked 'yes'. I will track them when I get another update request which I will install. If it happens again, my next question will be how to keep the nag bar from showing on my web pages to update. I will just stick with my current version.

Sounds like you have a problem with the cookies.
Detail like websites remembering you (log you in automatically) is stored in a cookie.
You can use these steps to make a website recognize and remember you:
- create a cookie allow exception with the proper protocol (https:// or http://) to make a website remember you
You can check that you aren't clearing these cookies.
- using "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" keeps cookies with an allow exception
- using "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear cookies clears all cookies including cookies with an allow exception you may want to keep
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Exceptions/Permissions"

Cor-el....are you still out there? I know that you're a volunteer, but I am marking this as 'Solved' since I have no idea how to do what you suggested and you haven't answered my followup. Plus, I have no idea why it does it on some sites and not the others.
Thank you again for your attempt at helping me. Now if only I could get help on my T'bird question, lol.
Have a great day!
