Word.docx and .pdf attachments are received whole/unaltered in gmail, but some arrive as 'winmail.dat' files in Thunderbird.

The sender has adjusted settings to HTML at her end, but attachments still hit Thunderbird as .dat files. Is there something I can change in Thunderbird?

TB Tools/Add-ons, type lookout in the search, on the next tab click the install button for LookOut (fix version).
