Hello there br9 We have read your message We try to help you.
Your spell checker for Thunderbird does not work.
Did you use this add- on? https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/grammar-and-spell-checker/
Try to reset the add- on . Start up in safe modus for Thunderbird. Check your fire wall settings by the configurations.
Check other add-ons for issues by turning them on and off when you re in safe modus. See if there are some changes
Spellchecker Check Your Spelling as You Type in Mozilla Thunderbird Go to the Thunderbird menu and select Preferences. Select the Composition tab. Under Spelling, select the Enable spellcheck as you type check box. To change the spellcheck dictionary, select the Language drop-down menu, and choose an option.
After installing again there is a option to add a beter vocabulary by installing a dictionary for it .
In Mozilla Thunderbird, select Edit > Preferences. Choose Composition in the left panel and select the Spelling tab. Select Download More Dictionaries. Choose the dictionary you want from the list. In the page that opens, choose Add to Thunderbird. Press Add again to confirm the installation.

Hello there again br 9.
You can also turn your spellcheck program on and off. And auto correct it. Windows 10 and Thunderbird is required.
Open Windows Settings. Press the “Start” button, then click the settings cog in the bottom left corner, above the power button. Click the “Devices” heading. Open the “Typing” menu and turn on or off Windows 10 spell check and Windows autocorrect.
If spellchecker is also grayed out and does not work the fix is down here.
Read carefully before using it.
First, launch Thunderbird.
Next, enable the Menu bar if you have not already. To do so: click the Menu button near the top right of the Thunderbird window, then click Options, then place a check mark beside "Menu Bar". You should now see the menu bar at the top.
Now it's time to download a dictionary. Click Tools -> Options, then go to the "Composition" menu at top of the Options window, then click on the "Spelling" tab.
Under the "Spelling tab" you should see: "Enable spell check as you type" and it should have a check mark beside it. If your "Language" pull-down option is grayed out, then will need to download and enable a dictionary. Click the "Download more Dictionaries" link. This will open up a new tab in Thunderbird; in order to access that tab you will have to close the "Options" window. Do that and you should be able to access the "Dictionaries" download page.
Click the link to download the "English (US)" dictionary (or whichever dictionary you prefer). A new window will appear, click the "Add to thunderbird" option, then "Install now".
At this point, Thunderbird will report the dictionary was installed at the very top of the screen. Near the very right of that is an option to click that says: "Add-on manager" - click that button.
The "Add-ons manager" tab will appear and you should see a "Dictionaries" heading on the left side of the window, with the dictionary you installed on the right. Now it's time to verify that the dictionary is selected for use. Click Tools -> Options from the very top, then go to the "Composition" menu, then select the "Spelling" tab. It should say: "Enable spell check as you type" with a check mark, then underneath that: "Language: English (US)", or whichever language you specified.
Now it's time to test your spell check. Close all the Thunderbird tabs except for the main Thunderbird window. Next, click the "Write" button to create a new email, then enter in some text with some incorrect spelling to test your real-time spellchecker. It should work.
End
