Thunderbird 102.0.2
I am using a Mac with OS Big Sur. What has happened or is happening to Thunderbird 102.0.2? I just logged in to retrieve my new messages, and all messages, even messages which were already in my mailbox and were OK, have no pictures at all. Instead they have websites' urls which I must click on to see the pictures. I have been using Thunderbird from way way back and this is a first. The same messages are on the server OK, and are retrieved OK by other email programs. What has happened or is happening to Thunderbird 102.0.2? Is Thunderbird version 102 a failure? Delano Attride

Today is July 17, 2022. I think that Thunderbird changed my view/message body as to plain text from original HTML. I changed it back. I also have a new thing to report. When you delete a message Thunderbird changes the message body to all blanks. I really wish I could go back to version 91. Delano Attride

Can you offer a bit more info.
EDITED - user has already mentioned the OS
Are you talking about a pop or imap account? When you delete the message does it go into Trash folder or does it get a strikethrough? Do you mean the email goes into the 'Trash' folder but when you select it - it displays nothing in the Message Pane? Is this effecting a few emails or All emails in the Trash cannot show content? OR do you mean Emails go to TRash but the list looks like it is empty - however if you click in 'empty' list an email appears in Message Pane?

Replying to Toad-Hall: I am using an iMac running Big Sur. Thunderbird is behaving very haphazardly. I sincerely wish I could go back to Version 91. Now for your questions. I am using a POP Account. All deletions go to the Thunderbird Trash folder. Sometimes the message bodies are blank, sometimes not. But Message bodies which are blank upon deletion stay blank forever whether you "undo delete" or move them elsewhere. The messages in the Trash folder contain both blank and non-blank message bodies although the full messages remain intact on the server, and can be retrieved by other email programs. If you download the message again and delete it the Trash folder will then contain the same message twice one being blank the other being OK. Your question after "do you mean" does not occur. What is very unnerving is that a perfectly valid message becomes empty when it is moved to the Trash folder, and that this seems to occur randomly. On another note Thunderbird version 102 fully ignores my account flag "fetch headers only" option, and downloads the entire message. Delano Attride

What do you see in the profile folder?
Menu icon > Help > Troubleshooting Information Under 'Application Basics' - half way - Profile Folders - click on 'Open Finder'
A new window opens showing contents of profile name folder. click on 'Mail' folder click on the pop mail account folder to see contents Make window big enough to see all files. Make sure you have the view details so you see as a list. Please create a jpg image and post in the forum.
I'm looking to see whether you have mbox files and .msf files or only .msf files.
Back in Thunderbird
TRy Right click on Trash and select 'Properties'
Click on 'Repair Folder'
Click on OK
Also : Is that Pop account set up to use it's own folders or is a deferred account - aka 'Global Inbox' which only uses the 'Local Folders' account?
Replying to Toad-Hall: I clicked "repair" but no info screen was returned to acknowledge my action. When I clicked "OK" the screen disappeared. The The .jpg file is attached below. My wife also has the same header problem. If I get mine fixed I will fix hers. Delano Attride
Replying to Toad-Hall: Not sure the .jpg file was attached to my reply. So I checked the more info box and sent it again.

You can only upload an image via this forum. Go to this question in the forum - in this email - near the bottom beside the green 'Mark it as solved' button - will be text like 'This doesn't solve my problem' - click on the text as it is a link to this forum question.
Add some text in the 'Post a Reply' which explains info about image. Just below the 'Post a Reply' text box is 'Add images (optional):' and below it is 'Browse' button Click on the Browse button and locate the saved jpg file you created and then click on 'Open'. Image gets uploaded as a thumbnail. Then you can click on the 'Post Reply'.
Replying to Toad-Hall: I already did what your last post said. Did you not get the file? I sent it twice yesterday and am sending it again.. Delano Attride
You do not 'send' anything. You 'upload' the jpg to the forum and it shows as a thumbnail. See image below.
