Hi, Firefox ESR 115.17.0 is the most recent version that works on Win7. Versions higher than 115 are not compatible with Win7. We're planning updates of the ESR 115 line at least up to March 2025.

When you went to download Firefox on mozilla.org you were likely served Firefox 115 ESR as it thought you had Windows 8 and not Windows 11/11. Firefox 115 ESR is being served to Windows 7, 8, 8.1 users as Firefox 116.0 and later requires Windows/10/11. If you do indeed have Windows 10 then either you have a modified Firefox UA or you are running Firefox in Windows 8 compatibility mode which can explain the Windows 8 and not 8.1 as 8.1 is not an option.
