Warning: Empty string passed to getElementById(). - running 3.5.3, address bar no longer functions. when I mouse click in the address bar nothing happens. The google search tool bar continues to function.

Extensions can sometimes be the cause of problems. If the problem does not occur in Safe Mode, then you can disable your extensions one-by-one until you find out which one is causing the problem. See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems
AVG Safe Search can cause this issue. Try to disable the AVG extensions first to see if that helps. --- Your plugins list shows outdated plugin(s) with known security and stability risks.
