My add-ons are all installed and mostly still working as far as I can tell (from icons in my status bar, for example), but Firefox tells me that no add-ons are installed when I check the add-on menu - why is this happening?
I am using Firefox 5.0 on a MacBook with Snow Leopard. I have always used the latest version of Firefox but I am not 100% sure if the problem occurred with the update to 5.0 or later. I can't uninstall or update the add-ons this way, which is quite annoying.

This can be a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache, extensions.rdf) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
See "Corrupt extension files":
If you see disabled, not compatible, extensions in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left side of the Search Bar (or click the "Find Updates" button in older Firefox versions) to do a compatibility check or see if there is an update.

Thank you so much, that solved my problem.
